【2026】ラオスATMキャッシングの実質レート検証｜両替とどっちが得？手数料込みで計算してみた


こんにちは、東南アジアだーいすきなホステルオーナーのはづきです。今回はラオス旅でほぼ全員が直面する「お金どうする問題」を、実体験ベースでかなり具体的に解説します。結論から言うと、いまどき現金両替よりATMキャッシングが主流。ただし“手数料込みの実質レート”をちゃんと理解しておくのが重要です。
Hi, I’m Hazuki, a hostel owner who loves Southeast Asia. This time, I’ll explain the common “money problem” almost everyone faces when traveling in Laos, based on my real experience. In short, ATM withdrawals are now more common than cash exchange, but it’s important to understand the “real exchange rate including fees.”

まず今回の実績。私はラオスで2回ATMキャッシングしています。
Here are my actual results. I used ATMs twice in Laos.

1回目：2,000,000キープ引き出し／手数料75,000キープ
2回目：1,000,000キープ引き出し／手数料40,000キープ

1st time: withdrew 2,000,000 kip / fee 75,000 kip
2nd time: withdrew 1,000,000 kip / fee 40,000 kip

合計で3,000,000キープ引き出して、手数料は合計115,000キープ。つまり、実際に受け取った現金は2,885,000キープ相当という見方になります（※手数料分は“余分に払っている”ため）。
In total, I withdrew 3,000,000 kip with fees totaling 115,000 kip. That means the effective amount received is about 2,885,000 kip, since the fees are extra costs.

ここで分かりやすくするために、日本円換算で考えます。ざっくりですが今回の体感レートは「1円 ≒ 約130キープ」。
To make it clearer, let’s convert it to Japanese yen. My rough rate was 1 JPY ≈ 130 kip.

・3,000,000キープ ≒ 約23,000円相当
・手数料115,000キープ ≒ 約880円

・3,000,000 kip ≈ ¥23,000
・115,000 kip fee ≈ ¥880

つまり約23,000円分の現金を得るために約880円の追加コスト。割合でいうと約3.8％。さらにカード会社の手数料や利息を含めると、実質4〜6％程度になることが多いです。
So you pay about ¥880 extra to get ¥23,000 worth of cash, around 3.8%. Including card company fees and interest, the total cost usually becomes about 4–6%.

ではこれを両替と比較。深夜の空港で見かけたレートは「1万円 → 1,350,000キープ」。一見良さそうに見えるけど、場所や交渉で変わるし安定しません。
Compared to exchange, I saw a rate of ¥10,000 → 1,350,000 kip at the airport. It looks good, but it’s unstable depending on location and negotiation.

一方ATMは、どこでも同じロジックで使えて、レートも安定、小分けで引き出せるのが強み。
ATM withdrawals are consistent, stable, and allow you to withdraw only what you need.

実際、欧米バックパッカーはほぼ全員ATM利用。空港でもATMに列ができていて、両替所はガラガラです。
In reality, most Western backpackers use ATMs. You’ll see lines at ATMs, not at exchange counters.


ATMの使い方もシンプル。英語対応しているので問題なし。
Using ATMs is simple and they support English.

1. カード挿入 / Insert card
2. 言語選択 / Select language
3. 暗証番号入力 / Enter PIN
4. Withdrawal選択 / Select withdrawal
5. 金額選択 / Choose amount
6. 手数料確認 / Confirm fee
7. 現金受取 / Get cash


小額を何度も引き出すより、まとめて引き出すほうが手数料効率がいいです。
It’s more efficient to withdraw larger amounts at once rather than many small withdrawals.

ATMは人通りの多い場所（空港・銀行・ホテル周辺）を選ぶのが安全。
Choose ATMs in busy areas like airports, banks, or near hotels for safety.


結論はシンプル。両替は不安定、ATMは安定＆楽。差は数％なのでATMが合理的。
Conclusion: exchange is unstable, ATM is stable and easy. The difference is only a few percent, so ATM is the rational choice.

実際にやってみると、ラオスでもATMだけで完結できます。むしろそれが前提の旅です。
In practice, you can rely entirely on ATMs in Laos. That’s the standard way to travel now.
