Feedback left by Workawayer (Jasmine)
If you are traveling to Hiroshima, this is the place for you. It has been my first workaway and for me this experience sums up the whole point of what workaway is about. Hazuki is the most amazing and big hearted woman i have ever met here. Thanks to her, the other staff members and workawayers this month has been the most fulfilling so far. I learned a lot about Japanese culture, truly enjoyed the atmosphere in the hostel while playing cards, talking for hours, listening to music and spending time together. I will keep those memories and new friends forever in my heart.
The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the hostel itself is one of the cleanest I have ever seen. You can find everything you need for cooking in the kitchen, Shampoo and Body Soap are free to use and there is a lounge to hang around and exchange your stories with travelers from all around the world. The work is so easy that you I would not even call it „work“. It includes bed making, welcoming guests at the reception and cleaning the two bathrooms. Everything can be done super fast so you have a lot of time to enjoy your stay in the hostel or experience most of Hiroshima by foot and visit places like:
– Peace Memorial Park / Dome 3 minutes
– Bomb Museum 10 minutes
– Downtown, Shops, Restaurants, Bars 10 minutes
– best Okonomiyaki you will ever eat just 10 seconds
– Hiroshima Castle 15 minutes
– Supermarket 3 minutes
– Miyajima 1 hour (by train)
