Preparations for the 88 Temples of Shikoku Pilgrimage!

In less than 10 days some of the staff of the Evergreen Hostel are heading to the Shikoku Island pilgrimage! a life-time adventure!! at least for one of them.
The plan is not to ride the bicycle around the 1,200 kilometers (750 miles) but only the northeast side of the island in the Ehime prefecture, so we are planning on taking the ferry to Matsuyama and from there head south and into the mountains and up and downs road that seems that is going to be really hard specially because the bikes does not have gear shift, and after visiting about 20 temples then we will go to Imabari city and from there cross the Shimanami Kaidō, a 70 kilometers bike way to Onomichi city.
Today I was looking for a Bike tour Map and it looks way more intimidating that I tough but its going to be all right!
During the last two weeks one of the staff have been training going out more in the bike and on Sundays the team have been training, one time around Etajima Island that was about 50 kilometers and the last Sunday, well that was just a fishing day with BBQ and beers in the seaside of Motoujina Park close to Hiroshima sea port, no more than a 20 km round trip but it was a great day.
In the other side this days I’ve been going out in the bike for short trips of about the same distance because I do not want to be left in next month trip. According to Accuweather there will be some partial sunny days and only a rainy day, to be honest I hope we have 5 straight days of sunshine and warmness.
