Feedback left by Workawayer (India)
My experience volunteering here has been the highlight of my trip in Japan. The work itself is fair with clear procedures including general cleaning maintenance of the hostel and reception work – the staff are super helpful making the transition into the nature of the work adaptable. I am so, so greatful for the staffs kindness, clarifying my working efforts with ease. My fellow workaway volunteers made my stay restful, relaxing and heart warming. The hostel is in a central location making it convenient to explore the surrounding areas – The peace memorial park filled with great reverence for the past and future, blissful
paths to stroll (dawn and dusk) alongside the ocean drifts river running through the city, beautiful gardens, shopping arcades worth getting lost in And dancing in, local cuisine to indulge in, only a stones throw away from enchanted islands, mountains to climb for virtuous views and temples to partake in mediation. The staff bike is also a wonderful way to explore the city at night, cycling to my favourite place to breathe-out, the space-like Hiroshima port. The hostel itself is cosy with spacious bedding, timber interior, light filled rooms, a vacant kitchen, multifaceted bathrooms, and a quiet lounge space to unravel the days, with the company of fellow guests or in ones own space. I enjoyed the pace of the work, obtaining focus while making friends with my colleagues and guests. Taking the initiative to give back while travelling is so worthy of my time, while I witness the land of the rising sun. I would definitely come back to volunteer. I wish you a happy journey !
