My first sento (public bath)!!

IMG_9062Hi, I’m Saki.  Nice to meet you. Let me introduce myself.  I worked here in August and September last year and came back to work because it’s spring break!!

I’d like to introduce Dobashi-Yu this time.  It’s a 10-minute walk from THE EVERGREEN HOSTEL!!  Ta-da!!

Women’s bath is on your left and men’s bath is your right.(Just in case, please make absolutely sure before going into the bath!!)

Everything, including shoe cupboard and lockers, is just the same as my image of sento. (Needless to say, it’s prohibited to take pictures inside the bath, so I only took a picture of shoe cupboard.)

After opening the door, pay the fee to the bath attendant.  Let’s get inside!!

Fee: Adult 430 yen (12 years old or older)
Child 150 yen (from 6 to 12 years old)

It’s friendly on the wallet.

For your information,IMG_9063

Open every day from 14:30 to 22:00
5th, 15th, 25th of every month are closed.

It was my first time to go to sento, so I got nervous at first. (lol)
Don’t worry.  It’s not that different to a hot spring.  Whew.

For your information, you can buy the followings from a bath attendant.
Face towel for rent 20 yen
Shampoo and soap 40 yen
You can use a hair dryer from 20 yen to 50 yen.

(There were ordinary hair dryers and hair dryers only seen in hair salons to get your hair permed.)
There were massaging tools, but I didn’t try it this time.  I want to try it next time I go there!!

The water temperature of the bath was just right, so I took a shower twice and got in the bath twice.  I became friendly with an old lady when I was taking a shower and we talked there for more than 20 minutes.  I got chilled, so I got in the bath again.  She was 84 years old and she was a big fan of Naoki Matayoshi, a comedian and a writer.  She was reading his novel, “Hibana.”  I haven’t read it yet.  She was very cute.  (^ ^)

You must drink milk after taking a bath!!

However, there was no milk because the machine was out of order. It was sad.  (I couldn’t find the milk, so I asked the bath attendant. (lol)) But don’t worry, there’s a vending machine.

Be sure to stay warm after the bath, so I said “good night” to the old lady and the bath attendant and headed back to THE EVERGREEN HOSTEL.

I’m sure I’ll be a heavy user of the sento… (lol) The sento stole my heart from the building facade.  I just died of cuteness!!

I think the men’s bath is the same as the women’s bath, but there might be some difference in its service. I appreciate your understanding. (^ ^)
