I really enjoyed my stay at Evergreen Hostel in Hiroshima. It’s in a great location, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but still just a short walk from the Peace Memorial Park, the streetcars, and many excellent little restaurants, including Indian and okonomiyaki places.

The staff are incredibly friendly, laid back, and always happy to help. The accommodations are simple but comfortable, which was exactly what I was looking for since I spent most of my time exploring the city. The hostel has free Wi Fi, clean showers, laundry facilities, and a shared kitchen where you can prepare your own meals. Guests often leave behind unopened food, which others are welcome to use. Best of all, the price is very affordable.

One of the things I appreciated most was the atmosphere. This is not a party hostel, and I was grateful for the quiet environment. It also felt very safe, and everyone I met was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed meeting travelers from all over the world who shared a love of Japan and were eager to exchange travel tips and experiences. As an older traveler, I also felt completely welcome here.

A unique bonus is that many young Japanese people visit the hostel to practice their English. It can be surprisingly difficult for visitors to meet local people because everyone has such busy schedules, so these informal language exchanges were one of the highlights of my stay. I appreciated their kindness and help with Japanese, and they appreciated the opportunity to practice English. It created genuine cross cultural friendships.

If I had to mention any drawbacks, the Wi Fi occasionally cut in and out, and the building is not accessible for travelers with mobility disabilities because the rooms are reached by stairs.

Overall, Evergreen Hostel was exactly the kind of place I was hoping to find: affordable, comfortable, quiet, friendly, and full of interesting people. I would happily stay here again the next time I visit Hiroshima.

広島のエバーグリーンホステルに滞在しましたが、とても満足しています。

立地が素晴らしく、静かな住宅街にありながら、平和記念公園や路面電車の駅まで徒歩ですぐです。周辺にはお好み焼きやインド料理など、おいしい飲食店もたくさんあり、とても便利でした。

スタッフの皆さんはとても親切で、リラックスした雰囲気ですが、困ったことがあればいつでも快く助けてくださいました。宿泊施設はシンプルですが清潔で快適です。私は観光で外にいる時間が長かったので、まさに理想的な宿でした。

無料Wi-Fi、シャワー、ランドリー、共用キッチンも利用できます。キッチンでは自炊ができ、宿泊者が置いていった未開封の食品を自由に利用できることもあり、とても助かりました。宿泊料金も非常にリーズナブルで、お財布に優しい宿です。

このホステルで特に気に入ったのは、落ち着いた雰囲気です。いわゆるパーティーホステルではなく、とても静かで安心して過ごせました。年齢を問わず歓迎してくれる雰囲気があり、私のような年配の旅行者でも居心地よく滞在できました。

また、世界中から来た旅行者と出会えるだけでなく、日本人の若い方々が英語を練習するために訪れることも多くあります。日本では地元の方と交流する機会が意外と少ないので、このような自然な国際交流ができたことは滞在中の大きな魅力でした。お互いに言語を教え合いながら交流でき、とても楽しい時間を過ごせました。

あえて改善点を挙げるとすれば、Wi-Fiが時々不安定になることと、建物には階段しかないため、車椅子など移動に配慮が必要な方には利用しにくい点です。

総合的には、静かで安全、リーズナブルで、スタッフも温かく、素晴らしい出会いにも恵まれる、とてもおすすめできるホステルです。広島を訪れる際には、ぜひまた利用したいと思います。
