あたくし感慨にふけっております。しかもめっちゃ英語うまいの〜〜！びっくりした
もちろん、ネイティブみたいにスラスラ話すわけじゃない。でも実際に話していると、「知らない」のではなくて、「頭の中にはあるけど引き出すのに少し時間がかかる」だけなんだろうなって感じ。
RICAは「広島駅に着いた時、“どうしよう、本当に来てしまった…”って緊張しすぎて胃が痛かった。しばらく時間をつぶして、覚悟が決まってから来ました」って話してくれて。もうその勇気が本当に嬉しくて
あと「ちょっと着替えてくる！」を何気なく “I’ll get changed.” って言ったShizukaには脱帽✨こういう自然な表現って、知識として知っていても咄嗟には出てこなかったりしない？私はする〜笑
これを読んでいる方の中にも、本当はやってみたいけどあと一歩が踏み出せない…という人がいるかもしれません。
でも実際は、広島駅で胃を痛くしながら来てくれた人もいるし、最初は緊張していた人もみんな普通に話し始めるんだよね☺️こっそり不安なことや聞きたいことがあれば、いつでもメッセージください✨
いろんな人がいろんな形で英語に触れていて、環境やチャンスさえあれば、本当にちゃんと話し始められるんだなあと改めて感じています
We’ve finally started welcoming Japanese guests whose main purpose is what I call a “domestic study abroad” experience ✨ and honestly, it makes me so happy.
And they were already much better at English than they thought they were!
Not necessarily speaking perfectly or fluently all the time, but when I talked with them, I often felt that the words were already there in their minds—they just needed a little time to pull them out.

年齢だけの話じゃなくてね。
知らない場所へ行ってみる。知らない人と話してみる。少し不安だけど、とりあえずやってみる。そういう小さなチャレンジを続けている人って、やっぱりどこか瑞々しい。

If you look at our overall guest numbers, Japanese guests joining for a “domestic study abroad” experience are still only a small percentage.
But this is actually something I’ve wanted to create for a very long time ✨
A place where people can jump into an English-speaking environment without leaving Japan.
I’ve been talking about it and promoting it for years, but it was surprisingly difficult to reach the people who would actually be interested.
That’s why seeing guests finally arrive with exactly that goal in mind makes me unbelievably happy
Honestly, I’m bouncing around with excitement lol.
This is one of the things I love most about running my own business.
You have an idea. You try it. It doesn’t work. You adjust it. You try again. And then one day, years later, you finally start seeing the first signs that it’s working ✨

理由を聞いたら、「英語のことばっかり考えちゃって、脳みそが興奮しすぎて眠れなかったんです！」とのこと✨

Honestly, I think that’s such a wonderful experience.
Whether it’s studying abroad, traveling, or stepping into a completely new environment, your brain goes into overdrive, doesn’t it?
New words.
New people.
New conversations.
You’re supposed to be tired, but you’re too excited to sleep
To be honest, I can totally relate. I never sleep well on the first night of a trip either lol. Actually, the night before a trip is even worse because I’m too excited to go travelling
I think that’s probably what it feels like when your world is expanding.
