We went there for two weeks and now we\u2019re all tanned!<\/p>\n<p>Last week, we went to the Hashi swimming beach in Shimane Prefecture, but this time we stayed closer to home. Bayside Beach is the closest beach to the Hiroshima City centre.<br \/>\nFrom the city centre, it\u2019s a 30 minute drive. (In our case, there was a bit of a traffic jam, but if you take the Kaita-Ohashi toll bridge, everything should go smoothly!)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: 0;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m14!1m8!1m3!1d13180.580517393251!2d132.4982664!3d34.3213232!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x0%3A0x52855a2e63fae710!2sBayside+Beach+Saka!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sjp!4v1564969693172!5m2!1sen!2sjp\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The long and narrow artificial beach is stretched out alongside Highway No. 31.<br \/>\nYou can go there by train as well. If you get off at Mizushiri station on the JR Kure Line, the beach is right in front of you! The accessibility is outstanding.<\/p>\n<p>There is a rather large parking lot for 550 vehicles!<br \/>\nDuring swimming season (Juli to August) FREE<br \/>\nOutside swimming season (September to June) \u00a5610 per car, per entrance<\/p>\n<p>At \u00a5610, the parking is very reasonably priced. You get a receipt after having payed which you have to visibly place behind the windscreen when parking.<\/p>\n<p>There is a continuous stream of large ships sailing by in the area. While I was swimming, I kept thinking how the Japan Inland Sea really is quite industrialised.<br \/>\nSince the only beaches around this sea are artificial, I was surprised as to how deep the water can be. Before you realise, you\u2019ve gotten to a point where your feet no longer touch the bottom! (Besides, the water at your feet will be cold.)<br \/>\nAdults with children should be careful. Still, are there that many sharks swimming outside the net?? (nervous)<br \/>\nEither way, since the water is too deep near the net, you can\u2019t really get close to it anyway. And if you do approach it, you will be warned by an announcement.<\/p>\n<p>That day, there were only about three unusually muscular men. I wonder if they were bodybuilders\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I almost wanted to shout \u201cLooking sharp! Those veins! That way, you can wash off the sand and come home without creating a mess (tears of gratitude).<\/p>\n<p>Even in the dressing room, there are free showers that work with buttons which you have to push once in a while for the water to come out, much like in public baths. It\u2019s splendid. For lunch, there are several menus. You can also order things like\u00a0kakig\u014dri\u00a0(shaved ice), soft ice, juices&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Floating rings can be rented or bought as well, but it\u2019s really cheap. A floating ring for children costs about \u00a5800. This might be even cheaper than at a popular goodies store (at the one I am referring to, a floating ring for adults was \u00a52000 and up).<\/p>\n<p>This time, I ordered fries and\u00a0karaage\u00a0(deep-fried chicken). It was crispy and delicious!
