Other than the counter, there are three tables.<br \/>\nServing us were two women, of which one was pretty energetic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">About five people were happily drinking while standing up. The liveliness made the place feel exceptionally accessible! From the outside, there was a slight upper-class vibe to the restaurant, but since on the inside customers are served in a very casual atmosphere, it\u2019s just tons of fun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I was under the impression that this is one of those places that live from a clique of very loyal customers. The people who came in while we were there all seemed to be familiar faces. As they came in, they shouted \u201c<em>Oss*!<\/em>\u201d and immediately got into lively conversations. This small restaurant has become the center of a small community, and that\u2019s just great.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Running a hostel means that there are mostly once-in-a-lifetime encounters, although we do have a few returnees once in a while\u2026 That\u2019s why I always try to get the most out of every single spontaneous conversation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This time, my friends N and K joined me to go out for dinner. Counting me, we were three thirty-somethings with young children.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-8560\" src=\"http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190904_192523-815x458.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20190904_192523\" width=\"815\" height=\"458\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since I arrived early, I started drinking while waiting (Oops!).<br \/>\nThis slightly sweet, sparkling wine was 500 yen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3010What we ate\u3011<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-8558\" src=\"http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190904_192458-507x1024.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20190904_192458\" width=\"507\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190904_192458-507x1024.jpg 507w, http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190904_192458-149x300.jpg 149w, http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190904_192458-768x1551.jpg 768w, http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_20190904_192458.jpg 1267w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 507px) 100vw, 507px\" \/><br \/>\nOlives<br \/>\nRaw ham<br \/>\nAjillo of small shrimp<br \/>\nBeef tail stew<br \/>\nCroquettes<br \/>\nMussels<\/p>\n<p>All of these were super delicious! I especially enjoyed dipping baguette slices in the ajillo (I\u2019m an avid fan of baguette).<br \/>\nI didn\u2019t try it out myself, but the sherbet my friend had at the end looked very delicious too\u2026 Gosh, my vocabulary for food reviews is very limited. Delicious is all I know (haha).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3010So\u2026 How much was it?\u3011<br \/>\nAdding some 9-10 (?) glasses of wine to the above menu, the bill was \u00a510,200 for three people. Cheaper than expected\u2026 I was expecting about \u00a54000 each.<br \/>\nIn short, I would definitely go again.<br \/>\nIf you ever come to our hostel, be sure to pop by this restaurant once!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(*<em>Oss<\/em>,\u00a0<em>ossu<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>osu<\/em>\u00a0is an informal Japanese expression used between people who are close. It can be used as short for\u00a0<em>arigat\u014dgozaimasu<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 but only in informal occasions!
