invitation to the historical buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, I\u2019m Danny.\u00a0 Rather ordinary, but I love historical buildings of the Meiji period, Taisho period and early Showa public bathhouse.\u00a0 You feel nostalgic for Showa period here.\u00a0 It\u2019s located in the arcade of Onomichi Shopping Street.\u00a0 Formerly, the building was used as a <em>sento<\/em> called \u201cYamatoyu.\u201d\u00a0 The name of the cafe is \u201cYuyu.\u201d\u00a0 You can find it easily because of its nostalgic building!\u00a0 Lockers and tiles of the <em>sento<\/em> still remain as upcoming architecture tours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5513\" sizes=\"(max-width: 308px) 100vw, 308px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Many of you might have seen the building of Former Bank of Japan Hiroshima Branch when you take the streetcars.\u00a0 Yes, it\u2019s that pleasant old building in the city.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: 0;\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The building survived the atomic bomb although it was only 350 meters away from the hypocenter\u2026.!<\/p>\n<p>This represents how strong the walls were at that time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The building was built in the early Showa period and it is classical-style.<\/p>\n<p>The interior of the building is very modern.<\/p>\n<p>I love this kind of building!!\u00a0 I can\u2019t contain my excitement!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can see teller windows in front of you as soon as you enter the building on the first floor.<\/p>\n<p>I was filled with deep emotion when I imagined the bank tellers carried out their work.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" sizes=\"(max-width: 463px) 100vw, 463px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The building has a high vaulted ceiling.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I had a negative image of a bank, so I was surprised to find out that the bank was sizes=\"(max-width: 461px) 100vw, 461px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is a branch manager\u2019s room on the second floor.<\/p>\n<p>I missed to see it, but there are scratches caused by the glass windows being blown in during the blast.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5518\" src=\"http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/g.png\" alt=\"g\" width=\"460\" height=\"307\" sizes=\"(max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since its admission is free, I totally thought that it\u2019s a property of the city.\u00a0 However, the building is still owned by the Bank of Japan.\u00a0 The Bank of Japan lends it for free to the city of Hiroshima.\u00a0 I hope it is preserved for a long time and more and more people visit here for the purpose of passing down the horrors of war to later generations and people who love historical buildings like me.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I found out that there are more historical buildings in Hiroshima.<\/p>\n<p>However, it\u2019s very difficult to look around by yourself because they\u2019re ordinarily closed to the public or they\u2019re the places where people study or pray\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I felt disappointed about this, but I\u2019ve got the latest information!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There will be an event called \u201cTatemonogatari Festa 2017\u201d from October 14<sup>th<\/sup> to November 12<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pref.hiroshima.lg.jp\/site\/tatemonogatari\/festa2017.html\">https:\/\/www.pref.hiroshima.lg.jp\/site\/tatemonogatari\/festa2017.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This event is aimed at promoting attractive architectures both at home and abroad.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, there will be architecture tours hosted by Architecture Walk Hiroshima and the city of Hiroshima on November 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 11<sup>th<\/sup> and 12<sup>th<\/sup>!\u00a0 The tours visit not only historical buildings or national treasures, but also modern high-rise buildings.\u00a0 You can enter the places where they are ordinarily closed to the public.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oa-hiroshima.org\/event\/event171111.html\">http:\/\/www.oa-hiroshima.org\/event\/event171111.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s very lucky to be able to take a guided tour inside the buildings where they are hidden in a veil of mystery. \u00a0If you are interested in this event, you should take part in it\u266a\u00a0 (I may perhaps take part in
