{"id":3424,"date":"2016-05-05T17:32:45","date_gmt":"2016-05-05T08:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/?p=3424"},"modified":"2016-05-19T17:38:58","modified_gmt":"2016-05-19T08:38:58","slug":"tourismwhats-the-flower-festival-in-hiroshima","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/evergreenhostel.com\/en\/2016\/05\/05\/tourismwhats-the-flower-festival-in-hiroshima\/%20","title":{"rendered":"[Tourism]What\u2019s the Flower festival in Hiroshima?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello , I am Hazuki\u00a0 , the owner of THE EVERGREEN HOSTEL.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is my first time to stay in Hiroshima in <span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><strong>Golden week<\/strong><\/span> (GW : Japanese long holiday).<br \/>\nI have been wondering how I can enjoy the time in Hiroshima this time of year, since all prefecture in Japan has many different events to attract visitors.<br \/>\nSo I found a perfect event for GW in Hiroshima, so-called \u201cthe Flower festival \u201c, which has been held for 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I made a movie for those who never been to Hiroshima Flower festival, so please check it out!!<\/p>\n<div data-oembed-url=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PQ6929JSB58\">\n<div>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PQ6929JSB58?wmode=transparent&amp;rel=0&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0&amp;enablejsapi=1\" width=\"432\" height=\"359\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This annual festival mainly takes place along Hiroshima Peace Boulevard for three days from 3<sup>rd<\/sup> till 5<sup>th<\/sup> of May.<\/p>\n<p>It surprises me that<strong><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"> over 1,600,000 people<\/span><\/strong> has visit the festival and makes it one of the biggest festival in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>There are main events in this festival, a float decorated with many flowers and the parade by Hiroshima citizens in 3<sup>rd<\/sup> of May, lastly Kinsai Yosakoi ( Unique style of dance originated in Japan) in 5th of May. During the festival other than the parade time, Hiroshima Peace Boulevard becomes a large pedestrian zone and packed with full of visitors.<\/p>\n<p>(I am afraid that the movie above does not include the parade)<\/p>\n<p>Besides those main events, over 30 stages are set up for special performances by dancers, singers, local student\u2019s music clubs and Jazz bands. It is a very livery place with great music. I was very happy to get such a chance to see those live performances by those music band (brass band and jazz band).<\/p>\n<p>Each stages have flower names (ex: \u201crose stage\u201d).\u00a0 You can actually see the real beautiful flowers everywhere in this festival and that was incredibly beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>\uff08By the way, the main stage located in the center of Peace Memorial Park called \u201c Carnation stage\u201d\uff09<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For your information, GW in Hiroshima is believed to have<span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"> at least one rainy day.<\/span> It was very strong rain yesterday so I wonder it must have been hard for those who performed at stages.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>How are your golden week holidays going?\u00a0(GW ha doudesu?)<\/p>\n<p>(Hiroshima people always say \u201c~ desu?\u201d in the last of sentence when usually say \u201c~desuka?\u201d)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello , I am Hazuki\u00a0 , the owner of THE EVERGREEN HOSTEL. &nbsp; This is my first time to stay in Hiroshima in Golden week (GW : Japanese long holiday).
